Case Introduction
Intelligent logistics, as a crucial component for enhancing logistics efficiency and storage capacity, plays a significant role in modern production. With the advantages of unmanned operation, informatization, and density, it is highly favored by the manufacturing industry.
In this case study, the focus is on a large copper-sulfur production enterprise. Multiway Robotics provides a comprehensive intelligent logistics solution for its distribution center. The on-site setup includes a three layers beam-type shelf and automated storage and retrieval system. As a result, Multiway "unmanned forklift + four-way shuttle" solution, combined with self-developed WMS, WCS, and RCS software systems, creates a flagship intelligent storage experience center in a newly constructed warehouse spanning thousands of square meters.
Solution: Four-way shuttle + pallet stacker MW-L20
System Configuration: WMS Warehouse Management System + WCS Equipment Control System + RCS Robot Control System
Beam-type Shelf Area: During inbound operations, workers place goods in the inbound temporary storage area from the dock. After being scanned and bound by a PAD device, the system autonomously assigns handling tasks. Pallet stacker moves to the designated location to pick up and place the goods. Once the task is completed, the WMS system is automatically updated.
Automated Storage and Retrieval System: The unmanned forklift transports goods to the roller conveyor line. After passing shape inspection, the WMS system automatically allocates storage locations. An elevator lifts the goods to the designated floor, where the four-way shuttle car retrieves the items and transports them to the designated storage location. After the goods are successfully stored, the WMS information is updated.
Unmanned Forklift + Four-way Shuttle
High-Density Storage, Adding Value to Space
By adopting the solution of pallet stacker combined with intelligent four-way shuttle, the efficiency of goods storage and retrieval, as well as the utilization of warehouse space, has been greatly enhanced. The unmanned forklift operates outside the storage area, while the four-way shuttle handles storage and retrieval inside the warehouse. This approach further increases the flexibility and scalability of both internal and external logistics, achieving seamless integration of the entire logistics production process.
Through a modular and standardized hardware deployment, coupled with highly flexible software systems, goods can move in three dimensions within the space, enabling efficient handling and retrieval for businesses. The provision of extra space in later configurations offers convenience for peak production needs.
Integrated Software and Hardware Delivery
Seamless Integration of Entire Logistics, Equipment Flow, and Information Flow
The interaction of software systems is a vital component of an intelligent logistics system. Multiway Robotics achieves efficient collaboration between unmanned forklifts and four-way shuttle through the Equipment Control System (WCS). This system allows for flexible interaction with intelligent devices such as inspection machines, elevators, and conveyors. This not only enhances the level of intelligence in the storage center but also improves task response speed.
In addition, the self-developed WMS Warehouse Management System efficiently manages various functional zones within the warehouse, including inbound management, in-warehouse management, and outbound management. Simultaneously, it integrates with the upper-level ERP system, breaking down information barriers and enabling digital management of materials.
Integrated Handling and Access Solution
What Benefits Can It Bring to Businesses?
The distribution center mainly stores materials such as lubricating grease, lubricating oil, and automotive parts. With a wide variety of products and a significant amount of handling work, coupled with substantial space requirements for warehouse storage, the traditional warehouse incurs high space costs and labor expenses. Therefore, intelligent logistics has become a pressing need for business development.
Implementing the integrated intelligent logistics solution from Multiway Robotics for handling and access will yield the following benefits for the enterprise:
1. High-Level Storage for Space Savings
By introducing an advanced intelligent logistics system and utilizing high-position shelves for storing goods, the solution maximizes space utilization and reduces site costs.
2. Unmanned Operations for Labor Savings
Both intelligent storage and automated handling can be operated without human intervention, saving labor costs. This solution also has broad application prospects in environments with special conditions such as darkness, low temperatures, and hazardous materials.
3. Machine Management to Avoid Losses
Using computers for goods management enables recording and monitoring of inbound and outbound data, achieving automatic inventory checks to prevent goods losses.
4. Automatic Control for Increased Efficiency
Robots can swiftly and accurately deliver goods to designated locations, reducing waiting times for loading and unloading vehicles. This significantly enhances the turnover efficiency of warehouse storage.
Multiway Robotics offers integrated handling solutions not only in the chemical industry but also in various other industries such as fast-moving consumer goods, automotive, electronics, appliances, and mechanical manufacturing. These solutions have been successfully implemented across different industries, earning recognition and approval from numerous clients.
